Native Shopify deployment is live
Install Fabrile from the Shopify App Store and embed your agent directly from the theme editor — no script tags, no copy-paste.
Shopify merchants now get first-class Fabrile support. The Fabrile app is available as a native Shopify app with a theme app extension, so embedding your agent on a storefront no longer requires touching theme code or hand-editing theme.liquid.
What changed
Previously, embedding Fabrile on a Shopify store meant copying a script tag into your theme — workable, but not great. With the native app:
- Install Fabrile from the Shopify App Store.
- OAuth links your store to your Fabrile organization.
- The Fabrile theme app extension shows up in the Shopify theme editor under App embeds.
- Toggle the embed on, pick your agent, and save. The chat widget loads on every storefront page.
No code. No <script> tags. No theme edits to revert when you switch themes.
Open theme editor, straight from the dashboard
Once the app is installed, the Shopify integration card in your Fabrile dashboard has a new Open Theme Editor button. It deep-links you to the Fabrile app-embed toggle in your store's active theme so you can flip the widget on in a single click.
Why this matters
The Shopify embed is the most common entry point for our e-commerce customers, and the script-tag approach was friction at exactly the wrong moment. The native app removes three steps from the install flow and means your widget survives theme switches and updates without breaking.
How to enable it
- In Fabrile, open Dashboard → Integrations → Shopify and connect your store.
- From the same card, click Open Theme Editor.
- In Shopify's theme editor, find the Fabrile app embed under App embeds and turn it on.
- Pick your published agent and save.
Your storefront now has a Fabrile agent answering product, sizing, and policy questions on every page.
If you're already on Shopify and using the old script-tag embed, you can switch over without downtime — install the app, enable the embed, then remove the old <script> from your theme.
